Hotel Overview

Situated in Dionysiou Areopagitou, the most scenic pedestrian street in Athens, AthensWas hotel is set right opposite of the Acropolis and the New Acropolis Museum. The Temple of Olympion Zeus is a few steps away and Syntagma Square is a 10-minute walk away.
Designed in line with the core principles of classical Modernism, AthensWas features uncluttered lines and natural materials. Each room opens out to a furnished veranda and has a worktable, minibar, flat-screen TV, safety box, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers. A Nespresso coffee machine is also included in every room and suite.
Offering spectacular views over the Acropolis and the city of Athens, the Sense Restaurant is located on the 7th floor of the hotel and serves modern Greek cuisine.
Extra facilities include laundry services, a business centre, a fitness room, car rental and guided city tours. Transfer services to/from Athens Airport and the port of Piraeus can be arranged. Acropolis Metro station is located 160 meters away.
MODERN is the new Food & Beverage outlet of AthensWas Hotel. Located on the hotel’s ground floor, MODERN consists of a calm and unpretentious ambience offering delectable comfort food and a fine selection of primarily Greek wines and refreshing cocktails.

Deluxe rooms feature a furnished veranda overlooking the city, a work table, minibar, a flat-screen TV, hairdryer, slippers and bathrobes. A Nespresso coffee machine is also included. Kindly note that this room type cannot accommodate an extra bed. Maximum occupancy is 2 adults.

This spacious suite is elegantly furnished and equipped with 2 luxurious bathrooms and fittings. The sleeping area features a double bed and there is also seating area with a sofa which can be used as a bed as well. These two areas may be separated by a sliding door, offering this way more privacy. An Nespresso coffee machine, a work table, minibar, two satellite flat-screen TVs, hairdryer, slippers and bathrobes are included. Kindly note that this room type can accommodate an extra guest upon request.

Located on the 6th floor with stunning Acropolis view, the Hellenic Suite is elegantly furnished and equipped with luxurious bathroom and fittings. It has a spacious, fully furnished veranda and features a Nespresso coffee machine, a work table, minibar, a satellite flat-screen TV, hairdryer, slippers and bathrobes.

This elegantly furnished room features a seating area next to the sleeping area, forming a spacious room. It has a furnished veranda overlooking Dionisiou Areopagitou street and includes a work table, minibar, flat-screen TV, hairdryer, slippers and bathrobes. A Nespresso coffee machine is also included.

The air-conditioned suite has 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom with a walk-in shower and a hairdryer. This suite features soundproof walls, flat-screen TV with cable channels, city views, as well as chocolate for guests. The unit has 1 bed.

Our first room was beautiful,very comfortable with two bathrooms,very clean(two tomes a day they came in to clean),with all the facility’s you need. For our last night we moved to another room with a beautiful view of the Acropolis. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. We ate dinner at SENSE restaurant and it was a very very good one. Breakfast is rich and tasty. The location is gorgeous at the centre of everything. We had a great great time and if we will go back to Athens one day it will for sure to AthensWas hotel. Thank you🌸

The location is excellent, and the staff are truly exceptional. They were very attentive and thoughtful throughout our stay. They helped us organize a trip to Meteora and ensured our breakfast was ready early before our 7:15 departure. They knew us by name and always greeted us with a smile. One particularly thoughtful touch was the complimentary wine they offered. When we declined, they brought freshly made juices to our room every day instead. Their care and attention made our stay unforgettable.

We loved everything. The neighbourhood is lively, safe, fascinating, and it's only 5 minutes walking to the Acropolis. The Hotel is... magical. Our room was beautiful, with a huge bathroom, comfortable bed, and a big balcony on the pedestrian zone. All comforts were available. The restaurant is an experience you have to make. Last but not least, the staff was so kind and welcoming, that we felt like at home in no time. We will DEFINITELY come back.
