Hostel Overview

Set in a Gothic mansion, YHA Ilam Hall has 84 acres of beautiful parkland, a traditional restaurant and stylish lounge. The YHA is situated in the Peak District, and offers views over Dovedale.
The YHA Ilam Hall has dormitory rooms, most containing bunk beds, with shared bathroom facilities. The magnificent Victorian building also houses a sumptuous lounge with a TV and games area.
The on-site restaurant serves traditional evening meals and light lunches. The cafe-bar offers light snacks and beverages, and there is also a kitchen for self-catering guests.
YHA Ilam Hall Hostel is a National Trust property, and the River Manifold runs through the beautiful grounds. Alton Towers is a 15-minute drive away, and Chatsworth House is a 30-minute drive.

The fine print
YHA cannot accept bookings for 16 people or more. Any such bookings will be cancelled by YHA. The maximum length of stay is 14 consecutive nights. Following any stay of 14 nights, guests may not stay in any YHA accommodation for at least seven nights. The ID must match the name and address on the booking. Where a booking is for more than one person, the named person on the booking will need to provide proof of identify that matches the name and address on the booking. ID will also be requested from all other adult guests. These IDs must match the name they sign in with at check in. Please note discounts are not available for members of YHA (England and Wales) or Hostelling International as part of this booking. Towels are not included in the room rate. Guests can hire them at the property or bring their own. Please contact YHA directly for more information about accessible facilities.Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

Super friendly, professional staff. We had a family room which I liked. Value for money. I personally had a great experience.

All and I mean all the staff were great, and if you had a problem they delt with it straight away. The building was amazing too. And the location had so many footpaths to choose from, I was spoilt for choice.And the breakfast was well worth the money.

Loved the location...and they have a lovely cafe attached...the grounds are beautiful...staff accommodating..will definitely be back.
