The fine print
Based on local tax laws, Peruvian citizens (and foreigners staying more than 59 days in Peru) must pay an additional fee of 18%. To be exempt from this 18% additional fee (IVA), a copy of the immigration card and passport must be presented.Please note both documents are required for fee exemption. Guests who are not able to present both documents will be required to pay the fee.Foreign business travellers who require a printed invoice, will also be charged the additional 18% regardless of the length of their stay in Peru. This fee is not automatically calculated in the total costs for the reservation.

Wonderful stylish place with unique atmosphere. The view from my window directly to the volcanos, unforgettable. Good bathroom. Complementary bittke of water on arrival. The personnel was very kind and helpful. The location was very near centre. The only negative is that carpets and furniture was a bit shabby and dusty feel.

I like to stay at las Mercedes hotel! The employees are very kind and they have a night shift if you are chemin very late! He only things is the shower! It took a long time to have hot water and they have only shower curtains so it is very difficult to find enough space to take a shower but to stay two nights it is the good place to stay!

The staff was very helpful and nice, they worried about our stay, being careful and attentive. They gave us extra duvet and a heater because we were cold. The location was good, 10 minutes walking from city center.

Las Mercedes is a lovely hotel with a special charm that makes you feel like you’re in a movie or a book. The staff is exceptionally helpful and polite, always smiling and ready to assist with various needs such as laundry, locating a post office, and finding legal money exchange points. They even organized a takeaway breakfast for us when we were heading to Colca Canyon. The early check-in was much appreciated after our long journey from Ica. With warm water, a hair dryer, and a nice breakfast, the hotel offers a great atmosphere. The location is convenient—close to the city center but on a quieter street. I have never felt so well taken care of in a hotel before; the outstanding service and attention to client needs were truly remarkable. It’s a place where you could easily stay for longer and feel right at home.

I spent two nights at Las Mercedes and wish I could have stayed longer. It is a lovely hotel situated a short walk from the centre of Arequipa. Ursula was absolutely fantastic - such a helpful and thoughtful host! The team were also really helpful and breakfast was great. Very highly recommended!

This was perfect. The car can be parked safely and there is a nice garden to enjoy. They have been very friendly with our 7yr old son - so this is a recommondation for families. The house itself is something to absolutley enjoy and the sights are all within walking distance. We also used the laundry service and had no issue at all.
