A very well kept establishment. Nicely decorated & equipped. Super hosts/staff. Great food. We were made most welcome (dog included) & felt very comfortable here. Nice village and walks & good access to A66 & surrounding countryside.

The pub is in an excellent location if, like me, you are climbing the mountains in the vicinity, being 20 minutes or so from Mickle Fell and Little Fell car parks. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room big enough for me and my dog and the meals were varied and excellent.
