It was an incredibly charming town with amazing nature. I’m so glad I didn’t hesitate to go there from Zurich. The hotel owner and staff were very helpful and friendly. They contributed to our plans and gave us great recommendations.

The hotel is in a perfect location in the center of the town. The owners/staff we super friendly, really doing all they could to make your stay comfortable. There were a small number of park spaces available next to the hotel, or a public car park with many spaces and pretty cheap just 1 minute walk over the bridge. The check in to the room was super fast and the room itself really spacious, traditionally decorated and inviting. There was an Italian/Pizza restaurant on site which was pretty good and the breakfast in the mornings was also nice. There are a number of bars and restaurants within 1/2 minutes walk. There is also a small lift in the hotel, which was really helpful especially having a baby stroller. Would stay again and recommend.

I was travelling with my sister who was visiting me from Scotland. The hotel proved to be a great success with us both. Being in the centre of Appenzell we had everything on our doorstep. Friendly staff, room/hotel spotlessly clean, and we enjoyed our meal at "Little Italy".

This hotel is centrally located and close to the train station. There is a wonderful Italian Restaurant at the bottom and they also have a take-away menu. Rooms are clean and well appointed. The staff are helpful however Matthew is in another league - he went out of his way to make my stay special and had helpful advice about the local area including hiking tips.

The bed was comfortable. The room clean. The breakfasts very good with a wide choice of food. The staff were helpful and polite. An excellent location and ideal for transport both by rail and road. Highly recommended.

Magical traditional hotel Staff is extremely kind and helpful, helped us with every question and recommended what to do in town and suggested fabulous hiking trails, made us feel very welcomed. Location is very convenient, by the old town, reachable by car, a short walk distance to the train station Rooms are comfortable and traditionally decorated Elevator for higher floors We enjoyed our stay (easily our favorite hotel of our trip) and highly recommend it Thank you!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and I must say that the hospitality exceeded all expectations. As a former Emirates cabin crew member, I've experienced hospitality at its finest in various parts of the world. However, the reception I received here ranks among the very best. The team's attention to detail and their eagerness to ensure a comfortable stay were remarkable. This traditional hotel is well located in the centre of the beautiful town of Appenzell. The facilities were surprisingly modern for an older building. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
