Cyril was really welcoming and helpful and the food was excellent. We ate there both nights. Shalani has a beautiful faded glory feel to it. We really enjoyed using Muhammad and his ancient tuk tuk for a tour of the city!

Very nice and professional staff, Siril was attentive to my needs and even provided a special dinner for NYE for me. Also the location is convenient to reach the temples, I was able to rent a bike and go on my own tour in 15 minutes. The room was large with a communal balcony.

the hotel is a bit far from the old city center but we could walk. they arranged pick-up service from bus stop by tuktuk and a driver was very kind and fun. He offered one-day tour by his tuktuk incliding drop-off bus station, that is not expensive. (Mihintale and Acient town in Anuradhapura tuktuk-drive / Rs11,000 + tip /2person @2024/11) I think it was almost same as other tuktuk-drivers and that saved times as you would't find and negotiate with drivers who drive on the street. Furthermore, a rental bike in the hotel was Rs1,300 so that it's better to ask him a tour if you are a group-tourist.

The hospitality was top notch from all. My partner is gluten free and the staff went out of their way to serve food that didn't have wheat. Very knowledgeable about the area and how to form the rest of our trip in the country. Food at dinner was amazing, different flavours to other remand hotels.

Very friendly personal. We were hosted by siril who helped us a lot. Good food served in dishes from the Raj. It's a good combination of colonial atmosphere and calm

A lovely guest house, serving simply amazing home-cooked food, and employing thoughtful, welcoming, and very knowledgeable staff, full of good advice on the sights in the city and beyond, and ready to accompany you on a tuk-tuk tour if you so wish. Do yourself a favour and stay for dinner on the airy terrace - you won't regret it!
