I am so glad I made the choice of staying at Bärehuus Boutique Hotel during my stay in Antigua. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, every corner was very well presented! The room was very comfy, great hot water/room space/wifi etc.. The highlight of the hotel was the owner Royli&Chris and their doggie Shadow. They were very accommodating and made us feeling at home. My finger was scratched by a dog on Acatenango (it is wrong!! Don’t feed the dog) when I fed the dog. It was a tiny wound but bled, and the dog was a wild dog, so I was seeking a rabies vaccine in the town. Royli recommended me to go to a clinic for rabies vaccine. I went but the vaccine was run out there. And then I went to several other private or public health centers in Antigua, none of them had the vaccine. Royli made several calls and told me that one hospital in the capital had the vaccine. She arranged the driver to take me to the hospital on the next day before we left the country on the same afternoon. The driver Luis was superb! He can speak very good English, so he helped us to translate with the doctor and then took us to the airport, so the whole process was very smooth. I really appreciate all the help from Royli and Chris and will recommend this accommodation to all my friends who comes to Antigua. Wish them all the bests!

The location was perfect, a couple of streets from center while being in a very quiet area. Our highlight was Christoph & Royli attention to details and care for our well being at Bärehuus Boutique Hotel. We loved the balcony and the common area with a quiet that felt like home

I had a wonderful stay at Bärehuus; the room was a great size and super comfortable. The location was great and close to all the main spots in Antigua but in an area that was quiet enough to get a peaceful sleep. The owners are super friendly and very accommodating - they helped me with my bags etc and went above and beyond. Would stay here again on my next visit!

The small hotel had a clean and contemporary rustic design. The courtyard garden was beautiful. Location was good - quiet and safe. We particular appreciated the attention to detail of the hosts Roillie and Kristoff who were most helpful and friendly.

We had a lovely stay at Bärehuus. The owners were incredibly friendly and kind. The room was clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. It is just a short walk away from restaurants and tourist attractions. I highly recommend staying here.

The Barehuus is a nice place to stay, with kind and passionate owners, clean rooms and comfortable beds. The newly renovated bathroom had a shower with good hot water pressure. Also the decoration was done beautifully with eye for detail. The owners gave us restaurant tips and arranged transport (paid) from the airport. The hotel itself gives a more air BNB vibe than a boutique hotel. As you enter the house in an open plan living room with kitchen, where the owners frequently welcome you.

The owners are such wonderful caring hosts. They were always available to assist in any way they could. From wonderful restaurant suggestions (many nearby the property) to sightseeing options, also nearby, to offering us coffee in the mornings. My room was wonderful. Quiet, very clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything you would need either on a business trip or on a vacation stay. Additionally, the entire property is beautifully decorated and a calmness abounds within the hotel with a couple of terraces a few steps away from your room, to relax in and take in the views of the surrounding mountains! Another special touch, the owners help you by arranging shuttle transportation from Guatemala City Airport to their property and back. And the service is amazing and the driver we had could speak English very well. I highly recommend that you stay here when you visit Antigua Guatemala, but book early as it is popular!

Perfect 10 for sure. This is a modern, family-run property run by global citizens who welcome you with enthusiasm and go out of their way to support guests. We absolutely loved our stay. This was the most comfortable bed we've had in 6 months of traveling. Especially nice to book after a strenuous hiking trip (like the surrounding volcanos, which are visible from the lovely roof decks). Stop looking, just book.
