Extremely comfortable bed and very pleasant room. Excellent family roast lunch, except the vegetarian option was uninspiring. Breakfast was very good, although one of our party's breakfast didn't turn up until everyone else had finished. The staff were charming and friendly. Loved the covered fire-pit space!

The inn, while remote, is idyllic and we stayed in the dog house in the Labrador room.

A wonderful break with good food, staff and accomodation. Everyone we met were friendly and I felt the dogs were not a nuisance to anyone.

What a hidden gem this hotel is!! It’s situated in the middle of the countryside. We arrived to a warm welcome from the Manager who showed us to our room and what a beautiful room it was, over looking the countryside. The room was immaculate with a large comfortable bed, so quiet, we slept so well. Great power shower including all the extras you’d expect from a 5 star hotel. Our evening meal was superb, great menu. Breakfast did not disappoint either great selection and cooked to perfection. We can honestly say that there was nothing we could pick fault in and we can’t wait to return in the Spring. Great base for visiting the races at Newbury and Highclere Castle. Thank you to you all for making our stay so magical.

Beautiful location, rooms were very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Relaxed atmosphere, welcoming. Exceptional food. Staff were lovely, very accommodating. Would highly recommend the Jack Russell.
