Hotel Overview

Set in Amsterdam’s former public library in the heart the canal belt, lifestyle hotel Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht, by Hyatt offers elegant design rooms with free WiFi. The Jordaan area and Museumplein are within a 15-minute walk and Negen Straatjes is just 120 metres away.
The hotel's interior is designed by famous Dutch designer Marcel Wanders and the rooms and suites feature views over Amsterdam’s canals, the hotel’s landscape garden or the interior lobby. All rooms feature a seating area with flat-screen TV, a minibar with complimentary drinks and snacks and coffee/tea making facilities. The rooms feature an open bathroom concept, with closed shower and toilet, but an open vanity table. Bathrobes and free toiletries are provided.
The on-site Prins & Aap serves all-day dining, from coffee to cocktails, in an eclectic Dutch design. Cocktails take centre stage here, and the food has an international focus with a creative Dutch twist. All ingredients are sourced locally and are seasonal.
Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht has a Spa & Fitness centre where guests can enjoy a massage and make use of the 24-hour gym. Other facilities of the hotel include bike rental, boat tours, valet parking and a babysitting service and event spaces.

The whole experience was lovely except for adding an additional payment to my credit card that was debited a day after departure. They did however reverse the debit which was in error.

Service was superb, and so was the hotel itself, too. The location was great. The breakfast area was pretty tight, but it wasn't an issue. The surprise Genevieve tasting was a cherry on top.

The location is convenient to everything we wanted to see in Amsterdam and in a picturesque part of the city with lots of small bars close by. Mostly though, I loved the atmosphere of the hotel. Andaz has chosen a creative-forward direction but they have blended this perfectly with functionality and comfort. The lobby and bar are warm and inviting and while we did not dine at the hotel, we enjoyed a pre-dinner drink in the bar area. We stayed in a Garden View room which felt like a home away from home and appreciated the layout and space available to store our luggage out of the way and feel comfortable. The room featured a complimentary mini bar, handy walk-in closet to hang our coats as well as ample space and sit down mirror at the vanity for makeup/skincare. The room was spotlessly upon check in and each day after room service and we both found the bed comfortable with quality linen. This will be our preferred hotel upon return visits to Amsterdam.

Location was excellent, room perfect size, complimentary stocked fridge and great shower too! The staff were are fabulous and Alex who checked us in, is credit to you. He provided super 'customer delight' at our check in so it set the mark.

Orange juice container was often empty and needed several reminders to be refilled. Not what I expect from a 5 star hotel. Also, main staff member asked me to choose anything from the menu and when I made my choice she told me I could get the item from the buffe instead. I insisted several times that I preferred to get the meal cooked before she finally agreed to take my order. Why ask me to choose from the menu and then insist I get it from the buffe instead? Then it should not be on the menu at all. Apart from this minor detail (you did ask) I am very happy with the hotell and this is still my goto hotell in Amsterdam.
