Much controversy locally over the management of this hotel, which is tired and needs investment, but staff were helpful and the room was priced about right. Encountered neither rats nor ghosts!

The Schooner Hotel is a unique and historic 17th century coaching inn . Just a little walk to Alnmouth beach . The staff at the hotel were extremely welcoming and helpful when we needed it. Will definitely stay at The Schooner Hotel again a beautiful weekend break .

The room was large, with a pretty new bathroom suite, the bed was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was good and more than satisfied our needs. There was a bar and restaurant available but we didn't use them during our stay. It could be a fantastic place but they are yet to achieve the atmosphere necessary to attract the bar and restaurant trade.
