Great place away from the crowded towns. Great views of Fira and smaller islands. Staff were really nice and accomodating. Breakfast inclusion was perfect.

The setting and Petya! Firstly, the setting. Sitting on the edge of the caldera, overlooking the sea and the rest of the island, it is in an astonishing location. Far from the crowds of Fira and Oia, Villa Maria is quiet and private and Akrotiri town still has much to do with some excellent restaurants, but I’d definitely recommend a car. Secondly, the absolutely wonderful receptionist Petya. She was so friendly and helpful, she messaged me personally before we arrived to welcome us and arrange a transfer from the airport, recommended and booked restaurants for us, helped us book our car rental and sorted out transfers when we left. Nothing was too much trouble. This is a special place and she really makes it extra special. The rooms are simply decorated but charming and very comfortable. And the pool is lovely, views are out of this world, with plenty of sun beds and a smaller pool for little ones. Some days we had the pool to ourselves, even in August! Breakfast was a lovely spread with slight daily changes. Some Greek pastries, croissants and spreads with meats and cheeses, eggs and of course, the divine Greek yoghurt. We were so sad to leave and we loved our stay and highly recommend it!
