Lovely hotel with kind, outgoing family owners. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Shower is nice, hot, and clean. Staff are attentive to all needs without being over-bearing. We requested an extra heater, towels, water, Nescafé etc. and all was delivered very quickly. Location is on a quiet street while being just a stone’s throw away from the Taj Mahal. We went for a nice walk down to the Yamuna River past the East Gate. For food we went to Joney’s Place many times just a few hundred metres down the road. Owners can provide good advice and make sure you’re not ripped off by local guides and rickshaw drivers. On January 1st, our first day of arrival, there was the annual celebration thanks to the local god Hanuman with ample music, kirtan, and pleasant atmosphere as well as offering of free food and desserts. High flexibility regarding check out later to make sure we could see the Taj Mahal once the fog had lifted which we really appreciated. We can strongly recommend.

Ideal location to walk to the Taj Mahal. Lovely candle lit dinner on the evening, with excellent service from staff. Good cheap breakfast in the morning. Very clean and comfortable room.

We had an amazing stay, perfect location to get to the Taj Mahal early in the morning. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, they organised transport and other tours around Agra for us. The restaurant inside is fresh and delicious! Would stay here again :)

Hotel Shyam Palace in Agra is an absolute gem, especially for anyone planning to visit the Taj Mahal. Its location is unbeatable – just a few minutes walk to the iconic monument, yet the rooms are set back from the road, offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. We stayed in January, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort during the chilly nights. They provided extra blankets and even a heater, which made our stay warm and cozy. The room was clean, pillows really lovely and soft, bedding was clean-no stains adding to the overall pleasant experience. The food at the hotel was another highlight. It was reasonably priced and delicious, offering a great variety of options to suit different tastes. Dining here felt like a perfect end to our days exploring Agra. What truly sets Hotel Shyam Palace apart is its incredible staff. From the moment we arrived, they were welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Their hospitality made us feel right at home and turned our stay into a truly memorable experience. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff for making our trip so special. We highly recommend Hotel Shyam Palace to anyone visiting Agra!
