Sven “Best hotel in Agios Stefanos”
Hotel Athina's location in Agios Stefanos is outstanding, on the beach with amazing sunset views. It is surrounded by restaurants, cafes, shops and supermarkets, and everything is at a walkable distance, either by road or through the beach itself. Agios Stefanos has a definite British flair to it with full English breakfast offered throughout the town's many restaurants. Going back to the hotel itself, the personnel is helpful and ever smiling. It is easy to see that they all care about their guests. On our last day, we had to wake up at 6am and they even arranged for us to get breakfast, although the full breakfast buffet opens at 8am. The bedroom was nice and clean with twin beds put together to form a double bed. Along with the wonderful mattress topper, it was a confortable bed to spend the night on and the beds never separated as they sometimes do in other hotels. There was a mini fridge we made extensive use of and a very nice balcony with a table and chairs, and drying rack hanging over the handrail. The breakfast buffet starts at 8am and has coffee, tea, juices, toasts, fruits, tomatoes, olives,cheese, cold cuts, and some British breakfast standard fares such as eggs, beans, bacon, potato hash browns. There is also a sweets section with various cookies and Greek cake slices, which I highly recommend. The hotel swimming pool is huge and certainly a welcome amenity on a hot day. Sadly we were there in late May and the water temperature was still cold in the morning so we didn't make extensive use of it. I'm sure there is more greatness to talk about regarding Hotel Athina but we were so busy driving around Corfu and going on boat and quand excursions, we didn't spend much time there.

The hotel has the magical combination of a lovely large swimming pool which then backs on to a lovely sandy beach. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. This includes the pool bar team, Lynn and Angela on reception and the breakfast restaurant team. You really feel they care about you enjoying your stay. The rooms are lovely and with a sea view a taste of paradise watching the sunset over the ocean. Well cleaned rooms and hotel and very helpful and friendly team made this a special holiday. Enough that we hope we will return soon.
