We visited during a cold spell midweek in January. Despite being quiet, the hotel restaurant/bar was snug with a warm log fire burning. The staff were friendly and the food was very good. Our room has a nice view over the river. We will come back.

Comfortable large bed, good pub-style dinner and breakfast. Plenty of convenient parking. Fluffy towels.

All the staff were very welcoming and friendly - it made for a relaxing atmosphere. We had our dog with us and it was one of the most dog friendly hotels we have been to. The main restaurant area was dog free but dogs were welcomed in the bar and also loft dining area - so everyone was catered for. We had a twin room with plenty space for the dog bed and a fabulous walk in shower. The food was excellent. Aboyne has beautiful walks very close by - walking from the hotel - and further afield by car.
