Bed and Breakfast Overview

Gartmore House was originally built in 1793 is steeped in history from a private residence and the West front being re-designed by David Barclay one of Charles Rennie Mackintosh`s pupils, each room has a story to tell.
Set in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park Gartmore House Bed and Breakfast offers free onsite parking and free Wifi. With 100 acres of land, there are breathtaking views stretching 25 miles towards Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument. Guests at Gartmore House can enjoy an array of activities in the surroundings including Golf, climbing, hiking and cycling, boat trips not to mention visitors attractions of Glengoyne Distillery and Deanston Distillery.
All of our rooms include Tea and coffee making facilities, irons and ironing boards, and hairdryers. Most of the rooms will feature period decor and historic character. As the bedrooms do not have televisions, we have a television lounge in one of our public lounges.
Gartmore is less than 6 miles from Lake of Menteith, 10 miles from Loch Katrine, and 12 miles from Loch Lomond.
Stirling Train Station by car is 30mins away and Glasgow Airport 45mins.

We were fortunate to visit this property with friends and had the whole building to ourselves! The interior of the hotel is truly stunning and full of history. The rooms are very spacious and extremely comfortable - however we didn’t experience the lovely views as the weather was poor. The lounge area with its open fireplace was lovely and a great place to sit and relax. The outstanding customer service provided by the staff was absolutely first class - please see the review from our friend Barry who has captured the uniqueness of this hotel extremely well.

The drawing room was so welcoming with the real fire and comfy couches.ideal for reading the papers or a good book. The bedroom was spacious and had a lovely view. But all of this plays second fiddle to the real USP, the staff. From the incredibly warm welcome by Douglas at check-in, to Roddy’s masterful fire setting, and Piotric’s excellent breakfast and Kasha’s attentive service, and Peter’s history lesson about the property.
