Where to begin? We loved everything about this place - the welcoming owners and staff, the spacious, nicely decorated room, the balcony with stunning views, the comfortable beds, the amazing breakfast and homemade dinners, the nice little details in decoration everywhere, the art pieces showcased in the common areas, the fact that sustainability matters and among other aspects the energy is solar powered. This place really stands out in many nice places we encountered in Kerala.

Wonderful location with views over the jungle. The hosts were wonderful and kind. We stayed 4 nights and they gave us advice on lots of things to do plus they had trusty drivers to take us up to the tea plantation, hiking, bird watching and herping. The breakfasts were delicious and a perfect start to the day. They very kindly cooked us a couple of suppers and we did a cooking workshop with the host. Being so close to the jungle gave us an experience of a life time. We had views from our balcony across the lush valley, waking up to mist and the most beautiful birds during the day, then hearing wild sounds at night.

Only stayed two nights at Mistletoe so tried to cram a lot of stuff into one day, but ended up being well worth it. Joe, our host, looked after us throughout the stay and was extremely helpful in arranging activities (such as a hike - highly recommended, and trip to the local theatre to watch a local martial arts performance). The property itself is beautiful and has clearly been designed with love and attention to detail. If we were there longer, just spending a day out on the balcony with a book looking out at the hills gives the perfect opportunity to unwind. Highly recommend.

Joe and his family are amazing hosts and offer a beautiful house to stay at. Mistletoe was probably the highlight of our 9 day Kerala trip. They serve freshly cooked home food, strike up amazing conversations if you'd like it, and the views from the balcony are astounding! If you're into birds, you'll be able to spend hours every morning and every evening just sitting in your balcony and observing a great variety of small and large birds. No need to go anywhere far for bird watching! We literally sat in the balcony with our coffee and spent hours watching the Malabar hornbills and racket tailed drongos and parakeets and many other birds. It's one of those places where you know the hosts care, and curate the entire stay for you accordingly. Very personal and warm. Thank you Joe and family :)
